After we have moved over land we will experience cooling, especially coming up to mountain ranges. It is here that we turn back into a water droplet by the process of condensation. The droplet clings to particles in the air (condensation nuclei) forming clouds or mist. We are now part of a cloud traveling through the sky toward the land.
